High Priest of Georgian Orthodox Church, Metropolit of the Diocese of Gori and Ateni -Andria traveled from Georgia to attend the event and conducted service in Georgian Language.
Furthermore, the Abbot of the Bachkovo Monastery, Bishop Sionii and Metropolit Andria, held a joint prayer dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia.
Ambassador Tamara Liluashvili addressed the guests and highlighted the relations between two countries, the Georgian-Bulgarian friendship, clear symbol of which is Bachkovo Monastery. Afterwards, guests had the pleasure to listen to a well-known Monk of Assyrian descent - Archimandrite Seraphim (Bit-Kharibi) and his polyphonic choir performing chants in Georgian and Aramaic- the language of Christ.
The event also included a tour, where the guests had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Monastery as a symbol of the unity of Georgia and Bulgaria.
Event was made possible with the support of Bachkovo Monastery and Georgian Diaspora in Bulgaria and was attended by the members of the Diplomatic Corps, Bulgarian Holy Synod, Politicians, Journalists and the Georgian Diaspora.
